Josiah got to celebrate his birthday for a couple weeks this year-- we had a small birthday for him with just us on Wednesday the tenth of April and went to Pizza Hut and then off for some ice cream. I was not feeling well the weekend after his birthday and then was going to be gone the following weekend, so we ended up having his "big bash" on Sunday, April 28th. We had a pretty good crowd, three boys total between two-and-a-half and almost four. "Auntie" Jane and I worked on the Larry and Bob cake from Veggie Tales the previous Friday and I finished up the homemade pinata. Everyone came at 3:00 and we started by trying to open the pinata, which just wouldn't open-- I guess the grocery bags at Super One are just too tough. After the three boys had their chance at it several times with the help of Mom's, we finally got it open. I never even considered what kind of candy to put in there, so some of the lollipops were pummeled and pulverized, oh well, next time I will know! After, Josiah opened presents. He was blessed with lots of fun things...a couple books, a HUGE set of matchbox and hotwheels cars that Dad had found at a garage sale, Thomas-the-Train portable play sets, he was opening presents so fast, Mom could not keep up with everything...Afterwards he blew out the candles and then we sang happy birthday, probably should have happened the other way around, but oh well...Kent made popcorn, we had take n' bake pizza, cake and ice cream.
Josiah noticed that two of his friends were not there, "I thought Brooke and Olavi were going to come to my party"? I am amazed at how he notices details like that...And for his three-year-old birthday, we were blessed with him being potty trained! He actually started to really get the hang of it and go into the bathroom all by himself a week or two earlier than that. Yeah! He is changing at the speed of light every day...so here are some pictures of the last few weeks...
