New duds

Thanks to Verlyn and Arnie, Josiah has some new duds.  She made a beautiful hooded sweater that looks great on him along with a hat, scarf and mittens too!  I told him he had a package in the mail and he couldn't wait for Mom to help him open it.  He readily put his "smiler" on and let me take some pictures so that she could see them on her.

She also made me some new dishcloths that were just what this professional dishwasher needed.  Thank you Arnie for taking all that time to make these, a very thoughtful gift, all us Nelson's give you kudos for your hard work on our behalf.  Be sure to ask Josiah's Grandmother for a personal "thank you" from Josiah as well as a few giggles if you need a little pick-me-up for a rainy day...

Silliness...

I thought I would post a few silly moments of Josiah...you never know what he is going to do next (or say next for that matter).

Some of the funny things that he says:

"This house is beautiful" (He really said that!) Made me do a double-take!
"Can we just hang out together?"
"Pastor Don said 'trepidation' and it was hilarious!"
"Turn on the sunshine please." Meaning open the blinds
"Turn on the outside please." Meaning open up the garage door

Yeah! The Library

Josiah and I went for a quick run to the library today.  We love going there for more books than we could possibly read (especially Mom) and a really nice collection of Duplos and a bigger train set than what we have at home.  We came home with a bag of books including a great book on treehouses so we could dream as well as edible gardening (can you tell I am anxious for spring- spring fever already) as well as some Richard Scarry, Thomas the Train, Dr. Suess and a myriad of books for an imaginative mind...

Super boy

Super boy visited our house yesterday, he was ensuring the trains were in working order. He must have been exhausted, he took his cape off...

Happy new year 2013!

Well happy New Year everyone!  We had a great New Year doing absolutely nothing!  We enjoyed just being home and relaxing.  It is amazing how quickly the days go by, truly we need to learn to number our days for they are going fast!  Kalispell has been socked in with gray clouds over the last few weeks so we have pondered the thought of migration...those birds really are pretty smart aren't they?  Our family has been busy, sometimes I just have to think really hard as to with what...life, that's what!  Kent has been very busy with work and is exhausted after running all day and I am kept busy with the medical transcription and running after a little guy.  We have taken some time out to go sledding, which always proves to be full of grins and giggles...

Josiah has had lots of fun with his Thomas the Train set that he had gotten for Christmas.  We had a great day just having some family time together, reading about the birth of Jesus, and relaxing...

We also went to a local Assisted Living and sang.  Josiah and did our first duet, "Jesus Loves Me" and he shared some of the scriptures he has memorized a couple other songs.  The elderly ladies really loved him and he seemed to take a liking to the microphone....he loves to talk so we kid that he may take over Rush Limbaugh's job someday....

A new frozen door greeter

It's bee n forever since I've written anything about our family's adventures.  Life just seems to get away from me...keeping busy with all the details of running a household and working Monday through Friday doing medical transcription.  We had a great Thanksgiving with a gracious church family who invited us.  We had a great time getting to know a family of nine children with the youngest being four-years-old, so Josiah had a playmate.

We had a snow storm two or three weeks ago and Josiah and Mom had a chance to make one of our first snowmen together....it came out much bigger than Mom realized and had quite a time heaving the middle snow "boulder" up....but Mama snow woman and her kid were pretty cute by the time we embellished them with Mom's hat, rocks for buttons, etcetera.  Josiah had a fun time watching him shrink before his eyes as he ate from his high chair and the weather turned warm.  The weather here in Montana has been unseasonably warm and we still have no snow on the ground although the mountains have snow about a third of the way down from the peak.
